Self-care is usually the last thing on the list of things to do for yourself. I know this because most people who come to receive intuitive energy healing have forgotten what’s essential about themself.
You were taught to take care of a job, children, parents, friends, pets, volunteering, or anything else that isn’t you should be your top priority.
Taking care of others may be part of your responsibility on the planet (and during times of great stress and need, your emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual wellness may be neglected) but making a habit of putting yourself last is not the way to live.
You were taught that being “selfish” is wrong. You may have been told you were weird when you listened to your body when you were tired or hungry or emotionally spent, so you stopped listening to your needs and believed “you’ll do it later” was good enough.
Self-care matters because no one can replace you. There is no other like you. And it’s time to start treating yourself like the beautiful soul you are.
Pay attention when you don’t feel well, and take time to get well. Feed your soul delicious food, fun, laughter, your favorite book, and a favorite show. Travel, close the bathroom door, unplug your devices for an hour, and see how much better you feel.
